1. Introduction

Quana Insights Pvt Ltd, registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

2. The Data We Collect About You

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, username or similar identifier.
  • Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
  • Usage Data includes information about how you use our website, products and services.
  • Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.

3. How We Use Your Personal Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

4. Website Analytics

We measure how our website is used with our own analytics, which run on our own servers. We do not use cookies or third-party analytics services for this, and we do not use this data for advertising or to build profiles of individuals.

When you open a page, we record the page address, the website or campaign link that brought you to us (if any), your device type, browser, operating system, country, and the time of the visit.

To count visits without identifying you, we combine your IP address and browser details with a secret value that changes every day, and keep only the resulting one-way code. Your IP address is not stored with this analytics data, and the code cannot be used to link your visits across different days.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not record any analytics data for your visit.

5. Job Applications (Careers)

When you create an account on our Careers page or apply for a role, we collect: your email address (to sign you in with a one-time code), your name, phone number, city and, if you add them, a portfolio or LinkedIn link; your CV (PDF); your answers to the questions on the application form; and how you heard about the role.

We use this only to consider you for the roles you apply to and to keep you updated about them. The people who see it are Quana's hiring team. Interviewers see your application and CV for the interviews they run, but not your contact details. We send hiring emails (sign-in codes and updates on your application) through our email provider, MSG91. If you turn on job alerts, we also email you when a role opens in the departments you chose; you can turn them off in your account at any time.

Your account, applications and CV are kept on our own servers or in private cloud storage that only our application can read, until you delete your account. Keeping them lets us consider you again later and apply our three-month waiting period between applications. Sign-in codes are stored only in scrambled form and expire after 10 minutes.

You can see everything you sent us, and delete your account with all your applications and your CV, from your account on the Careers page (Profile → Delete my account). Our internal record of hiring actions then keeps only a reference number, not your name. You can also ask us to delete your data using the contact details below.

6. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

7. Data Retention

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

8. Your Legal Rights

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. These include the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, to object to processing, to portability of data and (where the lawful ground of processing is consent) to withdraw consent.
